How to Buy Halal Food in Japan: 10 Top Online Stores

Posted on October 10, 2022November 3, 2022 by Soylatte

Since we got married, Mr Pukka and I have been trying to find the best way to get halal food and groceries. While it’s great to get them directly, there aren’t really any shops that sell good quality halal meat in our neighborhood (and we just can’t give up meat yet…😂).

Moreover, since halal meat are mostly sold in large packet (mostly in 1 or 2 kgs), carrying them back home is another challenge. So, this time, we thought to share some of our favorite shops for you who feel the same!

Halal Domestic Meat Products at Said Shop

Halal Online Shop Japan Said Shop

Said Shop is a online site that Mr Pukka uses often, especially for ordering beef for yakiniku. There, you can find many types and parts of beef — including good quality domestic beef from Hokkaido and Kyushu.

Besides beef, the chicken products in Said Shop are of good quality and fairly affordable. The shipping fee is 1,400 yen to Kanto area for orders under 7,560 yen.

You can access Said Shop here.

Halal Domestic Chicken Products at Ajinatori

Halal Online Shop Ajinatori Online

Ajinatori is my personal favorite to get processed chicken and meat products. In Ajinatori, you can get a wide variety of products: good quality sausages, hamburg, char-grilled chicken (sumibiyaki), gyoza, and even smoked duck.

Besides its great quality and taste, there’s not really much prepping required — which is great for bento (lunch box) and easy cooking. You can get also a free delivery for purchase above 7,560 yen.

You can access Ajinatori here.

Tokyo Camii Halal Market

Halal Online Shop Tokyo Camii Halal Market

Owned by the mosque of the same name, Tokyo Camii Halal Market sells halal food including frozen chicken, beef, and lamb. They also have good quality imported products from South Korea, Turkey, and many other countries, all halal certified.

So far, we’re really glad with the smooth shopping and delivery, as well as customer service experience from Tokyo Camii Halal Market.

You can access Tokyo Camii Halal Market here.

Affordable Groceries at Shinjuku Halal Food

Halal Online Shop Shinjuku Halal Food

Looking for one shop for all? Whether you’re still adjusting to the new environment or simply miss condiments back home, Shinjuku Halal Food might be the best place to get your groceries. In this store, you can find many imported products including seasonings, beans and rice, and even snacks.

They also have halal meats at a cheaper price compared to other stores.

You can access Shinjuku Halal Food here.

More Halal Beef at Meat STORE

Halal Online Shop Meat STORE

As the name says, Meat STORE specializes only in selling meat products. Their main products are Japanese F1 grade beef. It isn’t as expensive as wagyu, but still have similar quality.

In Meat STORE, you can find many kinds of halal certified domestic and Australian beef cuts for yakiniku, shabu-shabu, and steak. They also have affordable processed meat products that are tasty and great for bento.

You can access Meat STORE here.

Halal Bento and Delivery Service at Halal Deli

Halal Online Shop Halal Deli

Halal Deli is a service that delivers Halal bento all over Japan. This service is very recommended if you travel where halal food is limited, or simply want to have a good quality halal bento for outings and events.

In Halal Deli, you can find a wide variety of food, including Japanese and Malaysian cuisines. Actually, we also often use Halal Deli when traveling to remote places. However, unlike Uber, you need to order a few days in advance.

You can access Halal Deli here.

Indonesian Ready to Eat (Frozen) Food

Next, we want to introduce you to a few online shops well-known for selling good Indonesian ready to eat dishes. If you’re familiar with Indonesian food (or even an Indonesian yourself 🙂), here are our recommended shops to get your Indonesian fix:

Kotakoki

Halal Online Shop Indonesian Food Kotakoki

Based in Osaka, Kotakoki sells ready to eat bento and Indonesian side dishes. The daily special bento starts from 500 yen, which I think is very affordable for a lunch option for university students. In addition, their packaging is very well thought — perfect for gifting!

You can access Kotakoki here.

Warung Berkah Yahkuti

Halal Online Shop Warung Berkah Yahkuti

Warung Berkah Yahkuti is another established halal food business in Japan. When things get a little too busy, this shop is definitely a life safer 🙂 We often get chicken or duck side dishes to stock our fridge. You don’t have to worry about hygiene since the food is safe in vacuum packaging. And the portion is enough for several servings.

Our favorite menu (especially Mr Pukka) is their packed Bakso Urat, or Indonesian meatballs.

You can access Warung Berkah Yahkuti here.

Halal Bread at Hanamaza Pan

Halal Online Shop Hanamaza Pan

Hanamaza Pan is another halal store run by an Indonesian Muslim in Gifu Prefecture. In Hanamaza Pan, you can find tasty bread, sweets, and other halal food products. Although halal, Mr Pukka doesn’t really have issues with their products — all is delicious. We personally like their curry pan and cookies.

You can access Hanamaza Pan here.

South Asian Options at Nasco Halal Food

Halal Online Shop Nasco Halal Food

Here comes the last halal online shop on our list: Nasco Halal Food. Unlike other online shops, you can find more variety of food products from South Asia here. Besides South Asian spices, you can also find dal and frozen paratha and chappathi on Nasco Halal Food.

You can access Nasco Halal Food here.
